Business Torts

A business tort claim (civil claim) may be brought by an individual or a business entity such as a corporation or a limited liability company. Business tort claims are business disputes that are not contract-based.

Intentional business acts can include unfair competition, false advertising, the misappropriation of funds, contract interference and even stealing customers.

The major difference between business tort claims and breach of contract claims is that punitive damages are available for torts but not for a breach of contract.
